Ober farm located on Carr road just north of Hackett road

As this fall’s harvest goes into high gear, our picture of the month takes us to a simpler time in the early 1900’s on the Ober farm located on Carr road just north of Hackett road. An A. D. Baker brand steam engine manufactured in Swanton, Ohio pauses outside of the barn to fill up with water while most of the crew sits in the shade. Just inside the barn is a thrashing machine (which was used to separate the grain from the stalks) that was powered by the steam engine by way of a long wide belt.  Our thanks go to Myron Martin for loaning us the glass plate to make this and other wonderful prints.
