Douglas DC3

If you like old airplanes, a trip down Hackett road takes you past Preferred Air parts airport which is full of some very cool old planes. Sitting right next to the road is a Douglas DC3 that has been purchased by Preferred for modernization and resale. The Preferred staff can replace the original radial piston engines with modern jet propeller turbine engines for more power, greater safety and more economic service. The DC3 was originally introduced in 1936 and saw extensive use in WWII known as the C-47 Skytrain. Today the DC3’s are good for hauling cargo in and out of short runway remote airfields. Preferred has at least 7 of these planes and has flown them in from as far away as South Africa.
