“Knee high by the 4th of July” as the old farming adage goes comes to mind when I look at this picture of an exceptional Crop! These gentlemen are the winners of the corn growing contest held in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of Studer Brother’s Mill in 1930. I am really impressed on how each of the contestants dressed up to claim their “prize”. The Studer Brothers are the gentlemen with the light colored hats on either end. There is also a nice assortment of automobiles from the 1920’s in the background. We at the Historical Society want to thank Harold and Janice Fry for sharing this wonderful piece of Apple Creek History.
